'Fattoria Rodano Chianti Classico is an organic single-variety Sangiovese red wine made by the Fattoria di Rodano winery, in the DOCG Chianti Classico, in Tuscany, Italy.
The grapes used to make the Fattoria Rodano Chianti Classico wine come from a beautiful south-facing vineyard in Viacosta that is, without doubt, the crown of the estate. It is made following the principles of organic agriculture, fermenting in cement tanks and aging in large barrels or botti.
The Fattoria di Rodano winery lies at an altitude ranging from 200 to 300 metres above sea level, on the route from the Elsa Valley to Castellina in the heart of Chianti. This road was part of the old “Via Franchigena”, used by pilgrims travelling through northern Europe, from the Rhone to Rome.
Fattoria di Rodano dates back to the 16th century and, despite being in an area surrounded by large wineries, it is still a small family estate, run by Enrico Pozzesi, which produces wines in an artisanal way. This Fattoria Rodano Chianti Classico is, without doubt, one of Tuscany’s best kept secrets'
